Healthy eating is not about staying idealistically thin, or staying away from the foods you love. It should start with how to “eat smart,” which is not just what you eat, but howyou eat. It is important that you learn healthy habits of eating so you can reduce your risk of illnesses, protect against depression, boost your energy, sharpen your memory, and stabilize your mood.

Experts agree that the solution to healthy eating is the time-tested advice of balance, variety, and self-control. That means eating a wide variety of foods without getting too many calories. These 10 guidelines can help you follow that advice while still enjoying the foods you like to eat.

1. Eat foods with high nutritional value. It takes a variety of food to acquire most of the nutrients needed in your body. Your daily food intake should include a mixture of whole-grain, fruits, vegetables, meat, poultry, and fish.

2. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Fruits and vegetables are low in calories and nutrient dense, which means they are packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber. It can easily burn up when you exercise.

3. Eat more healthy carbohydrates and whole grains. Choose healthy carbohydrates and fiber sources, especially whole grains, for long lasting energy. It has also photochemicals and antioxidants, which help prevent coronary heart disease, certain forms of cancer, and diabetes.

4. Maintain a normal weight. Your weight is the basis of many factors – sex, height, and age. A professional dietitian can help you develop sensible eating habits for successful weight management.

5. Eat regularly. Do not skip meals. It can lead you to starve, resulting to overeating. When you’re hungry, eat a small meal.

6. Lessen your calories; do not get rid of it. The more you neglect your favorite food, the more susceptible you become to overindulging in the future.

7. Slowly make a difference. Healthy eating would require some sacrifice. Change your eating habits gradually so you don’t end up sliding back to unhealthy practices.

8. It’s not just what’s on your plate; it’s how you eat it. Chew your food slowly. The more you chew your food the faster it will be digested. You’ll also end up feeling fuller.

9. Food shouldn’t rule you. Always bear in mind that food is just food. Don’t let it you’re your life. Eat your favorite foods in moderation and just remember to keep a generally healthy diet.

10. Stock the kitchen with healthier options. Healthy eating starts in your kitchen. So, stock up on healthy foods like fresh fruits and vegetables, fish, lean meats and poultry, whole grain bread, and low fat dairy products. Find creative ways to incorporate these in your cooking to come up with nutritious and delicious meals that you and your family can enjoy.

Always remember that too much of anything is bad, so enjoy treats moderately and maintain a healthy diet. Happy healthy eating!

What’s an 11th guideline that I have missed? Let me know by adding your tips below.

When I was a little kid, I used to rush home from school so that I could watch after-school cartoons.

My favorite cartoons to watch were:

- He-man and the Masters of the Universe – Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends – Transformers

Remember those?

I loved the action, adventure and even an occasional lesson that these cartoons offered.

And it never failed, at some point during the cartoon a cereal commercial would come on.

Whether it was Lucky charms, Froot Loops, or Fruity Pebbles, at the end of the commercial they would say that their cereal was “part of a complete breakfast”…

It included:

- Their cereal at the very center – a glass of milk – a glass of orange juice – and a slice of toast

As a kid, I never thought to challenge this and always tried to have this “complete breakfast”…

And also a Flintstones vitamin.

I had always assumed, back then, that everybody had my best interest in mind.

It never dawned on me, that this “complete breakfast” could be a deliberate attempt purely design to get me to buy there cereal.

But as an adult, I learned just how harmful eating these cereals for breakfast can be to my body and to maintaining lean abs.

A quick Google search, and I found that this “complete breakfast” (cereal, glass of milk, glass was juice, slice of toast) had as much sugar as if I had eaten a donut and a can of soda for breakfast.

What a scam!

Here is what you can learn from all of this:

1) Never trust a popular food company to give you unbiased, truthful information about how to eat a healthy diet.

2) Always read the nutrition label and determine how much fat, sugar and chemicals are in the product.

3) learn how to eat a balanced, nutritious diet that keeps you lean and healthy for a lifetime (from a source not tied to the food industry)…

And the best information I found on how to sift through the Food Industry’s LIES and eat for a flat-belly on auto-pilot is from Isabel.

Her extremely popular book gives you the code the big-dawgs on “Food Profit” street are fighting to keep from you…

Beat them at their own game…

All the best!

P.S. When it comes to having a lean body, breakfast is the most important meal of the day…

…don’t fall for the tricks and scams that the food industry has put out there to keep you uninformed, unhealthy and “unlean”.

Why not take charge of your lean body diet now?

Here’s something I think you will find interesting if not completely biZaRRe…

So after finally buying and reading over Isabel Del Rios’ popular eBook where she goes into great detail on how to eat real food AND still be lean…

I curiously did a couple of Google searches to see all the crazy diets that are out there.

Here is a list of the top 3 most ridiculous:

* The Air Diet (breathatarian) – this is where you literally suck air and pretend that you’re actually eating a delicious, tasty meal.

What?!

EVen if this worked, there are some parts of the country where the pollution is so bad, you’ll probably get fat from “eating” all the dirty-air calories!

* The Cotton Ball Diet – this is where you grab a handful of cotton balls and stuffed them in to your mouth until you’re full.

You may feel full and have almost no calories but wouldn’t this make you constipated?

* The Tapeworm Diet – this is where you intentionally ingest the eggs of tapeworms so that they grow and feed on the food inside your intestines.

Believe it or not, people are actually doing this and claimed to lose 1 to 2 pounds a week.

Hello?! You just ingested a big, dangerous worm just to lose weight.

N-A-S-T-Y!!!

Okay, I know these were out there–even though true…

And you’re probably not doing anything like this in order to lose fat and get lean abs.

But, if you’re following the “common wisdom” on how to eat to lose weight, chances are extremely high that your eating strategy is not giving you the maximum fat burning results.

I mean, since you have to eat. Why not make eating real foods something that naturally and automatically torches your excess belly fat.

Find out which foods are extreme flat-belly foods and the 4 foods you should never eat…

To your success,

PS. Here’s what Cindy Standifer said about Isabel’s program:

“I’m Not Starving and I LOVE My Life!”

“Before I found Isabel’s nutrition tips online, I ate a diet consisting of a dangerously low amount of fat each day. I thought all fat was bad. Now I know Almonds, Flax seeds & Walnuts are good for me! At first I was scared to eat HEALTHY fats but once I did the pounds started coming off to my surprise! Calories used to be the first thing I looked at on a box, not caring what the ingredients were. Now Isabel has helped me train my mind differently. THE INGREDIENTS are the FIRST place you look! Her program broke my plateau. I’ve never been overweight but I felt like the scale was STUCK at 145 pounds no matter how much I worked out. Now I’m finally at my dream weight. I’m happy, I’m not starving, all of my co-workers and ex-boyfriends are jealous and I love my life!”

Start EATING and stripping off the belly fat fast…

The other day, I sat down to watch Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead on Netflix.

It’s about a really cool AUSTRALIAN guy named, Joe Cross, that had a typical AMERICAN story…

He’s incredibly busy with life (e.g. career, social life, etc.) and, like many of us, neglected his health until at a whopping 325lbs, he found himself FAT, SICK and feeling Nearly Dead at 40!

I mean, this man’s gut drooped 3-4 inches below his belt and he required X different medications just to function.

After being totally fed up with his pill-popping, beer-gut life, he does something DRASTIC…

For 60 days (and under doctor supervision), he drinks nothing but fresh fruit & vegetable juice.

And because the fruit & veggies went from farmer’s market to his juicer, right into his mouth…

he was guaranteed the most life-giving, unprocessed juice available–unlike what you find at your local grocery store…

After only 60 days he:

* Lost 100lbs!

* Went from a typical, frumpy middle-aged looking man to and energetic, fit guy that looked YEARS younger and got a whole lot more attention from the ladies ;)

So, why am I sharing this story with you?

No, I don’t think everyone should go on a 60-day juice fast–especially without doctor supervision, but…

Here are some lessons I think you’ll find very useful:

1) Just eating mostly unprocessed food can help you lose excess

belly fat withOUT calorie counting.

2) Most foods in the grocery store are processed–even the ones

labeled “natural”.

3) Processed foods make us Fat, Sick and malnourished.

4) It’s beyond just lean abs, it’s about your long-term health.

Putting all the pieces together can seem overwhelming; but it’s not

hard

If Joe Cross can do it, you really, really can do it too.

To help you get through the maze of nutrition information, what to eat…and most importantly what NOT to eat…

Isabel Del Rios has created a program where she takes you by the hand and shows you how to live the lean abs lifestyle by EATING real foods!

At any rate…

No matter where you are, you only need to take the first step.

Order the diet solution today and say “no” to diet schemes and pills and “yes” to the simple and quick way to EAT for lean abs.

All the Best!

P.S. Isabel’s program comes with a “Quick Start Guide” so that you can start your lean abs lifestyle as soon as you download the program…

How easy is that?

Take a quick ‘minuto’ and give it a look…

So what is your own diet story? Share it with us by leaving your comments below.

Every few years the Food Industry overlords get a HUGE bee in their bonnet and pick something that they find as the world’s “worst” thing to eat.

We’ve gone from: don’t eat fat to…avoid carbs to…never eat saturated fats…

But a few years later, “new” studies find that something else is the worst thing and the “old” worst thing was in fact not the worst thing but a good thing.

HUH? Confusing!

Being that I’m a bit of a conspiracy theorists, I don’t think this is by accident.

IMH(and a bit paranoid)O, it’s purpose is to create so much confusion the truth remains hidden in a thick, hazy smokescreen.

While the REAL problem remains…

For example, saturated fats have been touted as the worst thing you can put in your body…causing all kinds of heart attacks and strokes or worse.

But are saturated fats really that bad for you?

Well the answer is actually: not totally. In fact some saturated fats are beneficial.

I know. I know…

Everyone is saying how bad they are. But here are some of the benefits of eating the right saturated fats:

* Stroke & Heart Attack prevention

* Bone strength

* Liver protection

* Asthma prevention

* Infectious disease prevention

* Anti-allergy

Now, before you start loading your plate up with mounds of butter-cream sauce, the trick is eating the RIGHT saturated fats and in the right amounts.

When you order the diet solution program, Isabel not only tells you how to take advantage of the benefits of saturated fat but also how to avoid the specific foods that have always been (and continues) to be the REAL problem.

Just understanding this one point, will drastically increase your body’s ability to melt off your belly fat like snow in a desert…

To your success,

P.S. Stop allowing yourself to be pushed around by the Food Industry (design mostly for profit) and start learning for yourself which foods keep you the healthiest and leanest.

P.P.S. Because it’s a balanced approach, you can be sure that the information that you learn and apply here will remain consistent throughout all the ever-changing food fads of the day.

Have saturated fats also made you healthier? Share us in what way by dropping your comments below.

Shortly after I graduated from college, I worked for a big engineering company…

While there, I discovered that my boss had one of the strangest habits.

He rarely ate real food during the day…

Every now and then, I might see him eat a small salad.

But mostly he…

Drank diet Coke. All day. Every day!

Finally, I asked him…

“Do you actually EAT during the day?”

“Not really…I just drink these”, pointing to an open can of Diet Coke.

“How many of those do you drink a day?”

“About 8 to 12 cans”

“12 cans a day?!!” I was floored…

Not just at the amount of DIET Cokes he guzzled down in a day…

But here’s the funny part: my boss was STILL chubby as heck!

In fact, it seemed like he was actually GAINing weight!

I thought, “WTF!” (couldn’t say it out loud, he was my boss!)

How can you GAIN weight when you’re eating almost no calories?

It was then that…

I discovered two of the biggest myths to losing weight:

1) reducing your daily calorie count to almost nothing (starving) will make you MORE fat!

2) drinking so-called “diet” or other artificially sweetened drinks will NOT save you from the fat-inducing effects of sugar.

In fact, many studies are finding that people consuming artificially sweetened products are actually MORE fat than people who just ate the regular sugar.

Over the years since I’ve stopped working for that company, I have discovered many, many myths about what it takes to eat for lean abs.

Way too many to list here.
